So for Valentine’s Day me and Mishka:
- Had some Pho at the Saigon

- Went and saw the movie ‘Music & Lyrics’
- Had a debate about gender issues and how they play with society
- Played 5 games of chess, I won once, even
Oi. What a wonderful woman, eh?

HOOOOOLY SHIT! I DID IT! I DID IT! I MADE IT INTO THE MINNESOTA FRINGE FESTIVAL THIS YEAR! MY NUMBER WAS CALLED! THEY HOLLERED OUT NINE!
And the woman next to me drew it. They said 9, and in a shocked state I said ‘Oh my god, I love you’. She said, ‘What?’, so I said it again - ‘Oh my god, I love you’.
Then I realized that she didn’t know who I was and explained WHY I loved her. She congratulated me and I headed out of there, shaking - so full of emotion. Called Mishka right away and let her know - and damn, she was just as excited as me.
I MADE IT! I MADE IT! I MADE IT!

I’ve made, at 30, a grandious decision. I’ve decided what I want to do with my life. And that is photography. I’m applying to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, one of the most prestigious art schools in the area, for a BFA in Photography. Will I get in? Who knows. Will I kick myself if I don’t at least try? You better believe it.
I’m not applying write this second, as I have to figure out if I’ll be producing a play or not, but I will eventually. But I’m tired of what I’ve been doing in IT, and as such have gone back on unemployment. Sort of funny, I’m making $45,000 a year doing nothing for the next 6 months. So I can spend my full time with school and/or this play.
I also have the help of a good woman beside me, which means the world of me.
I’m glad I decided what I wanted to do with my life, and am pursuing it. I’ve known many people who just ‘gave up’. Deciding to never follow their dreams and end up working some shit dead end job. Not gonna be me. Granted, my ‘dead end job’ is Senior level technical IT, which is a ton of cash, but hey - it’s not what I want anymore. It’ll be a long road, full of internships and low-paid jobs as a photographers assistant - but damn, I’ll be happy

Tomorrow is the MN Fringe Fest lottery. I’m #9. I’m one of 382 applicants for 150ish spots. I’m nervous and yet excited. Wish me luck, eh?
